1. The inpage optimisation : Technically this is “Making your website Accessible to search engines”! There are a few factors to In page omtimisation and they can be summed up as

1. Title Tags : The title of the webiste which appears on the browser Header
2. Keywords Tags : This is less used but could be handy when you are looking at highly competitve keywords
3. Description tag : There may be a lot of controversy on how most search engines use this but its one of the most important one too
4. Keyword Density : The number of times the keyword you want ranked appears on the page to the total number of words in the page itself
5. Keyword positioning : Its always good to have your keyword well placed equally around the page. Putting the keyword only on top or only on the bottom may be less adviced
6. Design & Functionality : This is best left to designers, but you would be amazed that Wordpress and most other open source technology come with built in technology suitable for Search engine optmisation. Thats one reason we use Wordpress ourself and there are 1000’s others who do the same

2.  Off page optimisation : this is basically Linking from other websites to your website. There is only 1 Rule to this one. When linking the Text which links to your site should preferably be the keyword you want ranked for.
